About Us

I officially started Heart in Your Hand Horsemanship LLC in 2003 after quitting my school teaching job. I had given riding lessons for years, but it was time to dedicate all my energies to my passion (helping horses and people make an even better connection).

After a demonstration at the NE horse Expo the idea of the women's confident leadership camp was birthed. These camps were held at my cousin's guest ranch. However because it was getting harder to reserve a spot at their lodge.  I added a bunkhouse at my own place for smaller groups, individual lessons, and private retreats. It has become a favorite place from many of my regular clients as a get away from their regular lives to feed their soul, expand their mind, and bond with their horse.

Whether you want to ride trails on your own, need a guide, a seasoned horse, or a few lessons to help build your confidence, I will be there for you. We have access to over 100,000 acres of trails in the beautiful sandhills of central NE, some are very easy and others more difficult. Even when it rains the footing is excellent.

You will love the views, our down home hospitality, and the friendliness of our small town. We are only one mile out of town where there are good places to eat and a nice western shop.

This is also a perfect horse hotel for those traveling with their horses to shows or rodeos. When you need a resting spot, give us a call.

There are other things for non-horsey people to do in the area like golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, tanking on the Calamus Reservoir, and Fort Hartsuff.  (Just in case you want to bring your non-horsey loved one along to

In 2017 more people were coming to the area for vacations, so I opened up the bunkhouse to anyone, even if you don't have a horse or want to ride one. So I listed on Airbnb and in 2020 we had our busiest year yet. So advanced reservations are necessary.

We are open from March 20 through Nov. 20th.

We look forward to sharing a time of learning, fun, and peaceful relaxation with you as you bond with a horse, if you so choose.
