NEW YEAR PRAYER 2021

GLORY TO GOD

Dear Lord 2020 has been a memorable year that some would rather forget. But Father I pray for strength to start each day with wisdom and courage to face the new year no matter what we encounter in 2021.

Our lives have been so busy this past year with work, new problems, and everyday life in general.

Help us to remember to set aside time to sit at your feet and listen to your voice…even if it’s just for a few minutes. Forgive us for being too busy to include you in our daily schedule.

There have been a lot of troubles in the world in 2020: heartaches, sickness, loss of loved ones, riots & destruction, political unrest, natural disasters, job challenges, school and church closures, failing businesses, separation from loved ones, arguments and divisions, and so much more. I pray we will not blame you or use these trials as an excuse to not praise you and give thanks for your goodness and love. But instead we would slow down and draw closer to you.

Help us remember you are still on the throne, you have a plan for us and your perfect love casts out all fear. Teach us to manage our fears so we are not immobilized. Keep us safe. Give us wisdom to evaluate each situation and adjust as needed, remembering to act the way Jesus would.

Help us love and appreciate others even when we don’t agree. Give us the grace to accept we cannot change anyone but ourselves. . As we share our strengths and weaknesses with one another may it be in order to support and build each other up, instead of tearing down.

We thank you Lord that you are with us and that you will never leave or forsake your kids. We trust in your provision for our daily needs. Show us how to help our neighbors in need and to be generous with a cheerful heart.

Father we pray for all those who don’t believe in your Son. By your grace open their eyes and ears so they can hear your voice, see the truth, and believe the simple good news of how the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ provided the free gift of forgiveness and salvation for eternal life, by an act of faith. We pray for the harvest to be plentiful and the laborers given open doors to boldly share your love. Go before us Lord, preparing the hearts of the lost with your goodness that leads unto repentance.

Guide us by your Holy Spirit as we walk into the waters of the unknown of 2021, so that we come out on the other side in the promised land, which is our inheritance. Lord we watch and wait in patient expectation of the return of your Son Jesus Christ to take His bride. We thank you that we can trust all of your prophecies will come to pass in your perfect timing and that you are empowering us with your, strength and might to work for your kingdom in love, with evidence of miracles, signs, and wonders through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Father the heavens declare your glory. Your Son is the manifest presence of your glory, and the Holy Spirit reveals your glory. We humbly ask, Lord release your glory, let it fall, may we walk in your glory, let the world see your glory in 2021. All glory to you God, now and forever more! AMEN
