IS GOD ANGRY WITH YOU?

Have you ever wanted to know God better? During a 40 day fast realized that there are two sides to God. As I studied I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was on His good side. But I also knew I had not always been on this side. There was a time I was an enemy of God.

The reality is that “God is angry with the wicked every day.” Psalm 7:11 and God’s wrath abides on them

John 3: 36 “36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Before you are saved with each transgression you are treasuring up wrath for yourself. Romans 2: AMP 5 But because of your callous stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are [deliberately] storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.”

When a sinner understands the horrific consequences of breaking the law of God he will flee to the Savior in genuine repentance, solely to escape the wrath that’s to come. Hebrews 9: AMP 27 And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment”

There is appointed a day on which God will judge the world in righteousness.

Acts 17: AMP 30 Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance; but now He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose for their lives], 31 because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed and destined for that task, and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

Without the righteousness of Christ you and I will perish on the day of wrath.

Proverbs 11: AMP 4 “Riches will not provide security in the day of wrath and judgment, But righteousness rescues from death.”

As Christians we have joy and peace in “believing”. Because we know that the righteousness of Christ is going to deliver us from the wrath to come. Romans 15: AMP 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.”

This scripture gives us so much confidence because it assures us that we will not loose our joy and peace when life gets bumpy. Tribulation drives the true believer closer to the Savior.

The good news is that God is not angry with the repentant believer.

If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins — make a clean breast of them — He won’t let us down; He’ll be true to Himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. — 1 John:8-9 MSG

Remember without repentance there is no remission of sins. We cannot be converted unless we repent.

Acts 2: 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19 “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away."

The truth is we are all sinners. God’s Word is clear: if we will faithfully confess our sins, God is always faithful to forgive. Always!!!

As Henry Ward Beecher said, “God tears up the note and it is never seen again.” And that my friend is good news because it means you are now on God’s good side and He is no longer angry with you.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit. — 1 Peter 3:18
